We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our electrical wholesale company. As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our procurement process. Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to negotiate favourable terms with suppliers will be vital to our success.
In this role, you will oversee all aspects of purchasing, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and inventory management. You will work closely with our sales team to forecast demand and optimize procurement quantities. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality products and competitive pricing.
To excel in this position, you must be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You should have a strong understanding of supply chain management principles and possess experience in wholesale purchasing.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies to meet business objectives.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, and reliability.
- Negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Collaborate with sales team to forecast demand and optimize procurement quantities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the wholesale industry.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating with suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
