SRK branches in Lisburn and Coleraine join Century Electrical Wholesale to bring the company’s branch network up to eight in Northern Ireland…
Century Electrical Wholesale (CEW) has acquired fellow electrical wholesale business, SRK Equipment Company.
As part of a £1million investment, the addition of the branches at Lisburn and Coleraine extends CEW’s branch network in Northern Ireland to eight, with the two new locations enhancing the geographical spread across the province.
However, it will be very much a case of business as usual, with CEW retaining the current staff at both SRK Equipment Company branches. Ross Hutchinson, CEW Director, explained, “We are delighted to announce this expansion and to add two more branches to our network as part of a significant investment. “SRK Equipment Company is a well- established name in Lisburn and Coleraine and we aim to build on this success.” The two companies are perfectly aligned. SRK Equipment Company was founded over 40 years ago by Sam Kennedy and, over the last four decades, it has established itself as a reliable supplier of lighting and electrical products to the trade and general public.
CEW is the leading independent supplier to the electrical trade in Northern Ireland and it also serves both trade customers and the general public. Like CEW, the success of SRK was finding the right combination of the traditional, personal service levels expected from a family firm with the benefits of a multinational. The addition of these two new branches will also benefit the growing numbers of contractors working right across the UK and Ireland. CEW is part of the NEW (National Electrical Wholesalers) Group that s made up of Century Electrical Wholesale (NI), National Electrical Wholesaler (RoI) and Liddell Electrical Distributors (UK). This latest acquisition bringing the total number of branches within the Group to 19.
